Still Mad About Mud Pots

I was delighted to re-visit Wai-O-Tapu and show off this thermal wonderland to Sarah, Paul and Becky. I introduced them to my friend Lady Knox Geyser who, as usual, spouted off for them at 10:15 a.m.

We made the 3-kilometre rounds to view the park's craters, waterfalls, terraces, caves, ink pots, and pools. The variety of colorful, noisy, steaming hot spots is stunning.

As a connoisseur of mud pots, I've learned the area's best are just outside Wai-O-Tapu in a large mud pool surrounded by a newly renovated walkway. One can NEVER see enough mud pots, and I mean it.
