Pictin is Worth a Thousand Words

The Marlborough Wine Region also makes the list in 1000 Places to See Before You Die, and this place was on our list way before we packed our bags for New Zealand. The unspoiled coastal Marlborough Sounds are stunning, and the lovely community of Pictin is the hub. Pictin is also the South Island terminal for the ferry service that transports travelers to and from the North Island. We spent part of an afternoon here before heading south to Blenheim and the heart of the wine country. Priorities.

  1. What a lovely town! Especially because it serves as a bit of a "gateway" to wine country! :) I'm convinced...Paul and I MUST plan a South Island trip!
