I'm a sucker for seeing just about anything that is the "EST." In other words, the biggest, oldest, highest, fastest, etc. Traveling inland from Westport we naturally had to stop to see The Buller Gorge Swing Bridge - New Zealand's LONGEST. The 110-metre-long bridge takes you above and over the Buller River to a bush walk that traces the faultline of the 1929 Murchison earthquake. We also had the option to cross over the river on a zip line, but we opted for shakiest over scariest.
Cool- how "Indiana Jones" of you!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun bridge! Reminds me a bit of the Karanghake Gorge expedition that Paul and I had. Although, I can't say we crossed the "longest" suspension bridge. ;)
