Although Abel Tasman is the smallest national park in New Zealand, it is the 2nd most visited. We chose to appreciate this stunning part of the South Island from the water. Thanks to a fun guide and a picture-perfect day, we kayaked about 12 kilometres along the coastline of the park. We were rewarded with views of the Split Apple Rock, beautiful coves, unspoiled beaches and an entertaining seal colony. We were excited to catch a live starfish in the act of eating mussels.
Ooo- Wet'n'Wildlife! Gotta love it.
